Highway 118 to Be Topic of Workshop
Responding to complaints about plans to widen California 118 near Somis, Caltrans and the Ventura County Transportation Commission will hold a workshop for the public on projects to improve the thoroughfare.
The workshop will be at 7 p.m. Monday at the Mesa School auditorium, 3901 N. Mesa School Road, in Somis.
“The purpose of the workshop is to discuss the current short-term plans and to obtain input on the longer-term improvements,” said Ginger Ghirardi, executive director of the commission.
Several residents who attended a commission meeting Monday voiced concerns over plans to widen the highway, fearing the improvements could lead to growth and to traffic hazards.
