Bob Dylan’s “Time Out of Mind” made a remarkable jump on the national sales chart after winning album of the year honors last week at the Grammy Awards. Sales more than quadrupled from the previous week to about 41,000 copies as the collection leaped from No. 122 to No. 27 on the Top 200.

Among the other Grammy winners whose albums experienced big jumps were Paula Cole (from No. 40 to No. 20), Sarah McLachlan (45 to 28), Radiohead (57 to 37), Fiona Apple (76 to 61), Erykah Badu (173 to 103) and Jamiroquai (148 to 120).

Three Grammy winners whose albums had fallen off the chart saw them reappear--Shawn Colvin at No. 111, James Taylor at No. 135 and John Fogerty at No. 158.

Meanwhile, the “Titanic” soundtrack sold another 505,000 copies to push its total to 4.7 million. The mostly instrumental score from the movie tops the chart for the eighth week in a row--the longest hold on No. 1 since No Doubt’s “Tragic Kingdom” reigned for eight consecutive weeks at the end of 1996 and the start of 1997.

Grammy winner Will Smith’s “Gettin’ Jiggy Wit It” was the nation’s best-selling single.

What’s Hot

Here are some recent releases that are generating attention:

Celine Dion’s “Let’s Talk About Love” (550 Music/Epic). Dion’s voice is a technical marvel, but her delivery lacks the personality and intuitive sense of drama that are a diva’s stock in trade.

Pearl Jam’s “Yield” (Epic). On the Seattle band’s fifth album, Eddie Vedder’s vocals continue to express a variety of emotions as the group’s music grows in all the important ways.
