Leveque’s Triple-Double Helps Encino Crespi to 11-8 Victory
Tim Leveque hit a three-run double in the fourth inning to help Encino Crespi to an 11-8 victory over Tri-Cities Highland in an American Legion District 20 baseball game at Pierce College on Saturday.
Leveque’s double gave Encino Crespi (18-6) a 10-6 lead. He scored two batters later on a single by Anthony Sollazo.
Encino Crespi trailed, 6-3, after 3 1/2 innings, but scored eight runs on six hits, three walks and a hit batter in the bottom of the fourth.
Sollazo, Matt Wilson and Jonathan Oller each had two hits for Encino Crespi.
Jason Kubel had three hits and drove in a run for Tri-Cities Highland (17-7) and John Santor had two hits and three RBIs.

In other District 20 games:
Central Valley Cleveland 3, Granada Hills 2--Vince Zuniga walked with the bases loaded to force in the winning run with one out in the bottom of the eighth at Cleveland High.
Javier Gomez (3-1) pitched three scoreless innings of relief for Central Valley Cleveland (17-6-1), which has won 11 of its last 13 games. Gomez gave up two hits and two walks. He did not have any strikeouts.
Max Santillan had two hits and drove in a run and David Lopez had two hits for Central Valley Cleveland.
Canyon Country Canyon 11, Granada Hills Kennedy 1--Justin Wayland (3-0) pitched a one-hitter, struck out five, walked two and gave up an unearned run for Canyon County Canyon at Canyon High.
Mike Munn and Mike Enenbach each had three hits for Canyon Country Canyon (15-10).
Wayland (3-0) gave up an unearned run, struck out five and walked two.
North Hollywood Poly 5, Calabasas 1--Nichols Phillips hit a two-run triple to highlight a four-run sixth that broke a 1-1 tie for North Hollywood Poly (18-6) at Poly High.
Phillips’ triple scored Juan Guerrero and Salvador Trujillo (4-1), who also pitched a three-hitter. He struck out six and did not allow any earned runs or walks.
Woodland Hills Taft 16, Van Nuys 6--Mike Fonvergne and Mitch Spector each drove in four runs for Woodland Hills Taft at Van Nuys High.
Fonvergne had four hits, including a run-scoring double in the fifth and a three-run double that ended the game in the sixth on the 10-run rule.
Spector had three hits and Travis Rutter had three hits and two RBIs for Woodland Hills Taft (9-12-2).
Van Nuys Birmingham 7, Valley Chatsworth 5--Jon Rueda’s two-out RBI single broke a 5-5 tie in the top of the eighth and Joey Irvine followed with an RBI double for Van Nuys Birmingham (14-11) at Birmingham High.
Jorge Garduno had three hits, one RBI and scored twice for Van Nuys Birmingham.
Chad Redfern had two hits and scored twice for Valley Chatsworth.
Van Nuys Notre Dame 12, North Hollywood 1--Kevin Jerkens (7-0) and Austin Bryant combined on a two-hitter for Van Nuys Notre Dame (20-3) at Notre Dame High.

In District 16 games:
Royal 5-5, Ojai 4-8--Ryan Wilson singled home the winning run with two out in the eighth for Royal in the first game at Royal High.
Casey O’Quinn had two hits, including a two-run homer in the second for Royal (19-2).
In the second game, Brian Bronk had two hits and Matt Foster had two hits, including an RBI triple in the sixth, for Ojai.
Scott Rice hit a three-run homer in the fourth for Royal.
Oxnard 11-2, Westlake Indians 7-5--Joe Garcia and Sergio Castellon each drove in three runs for Oxnard (7-13) in the first game at Channel Islands High.
Mikey Brin had a two-run home run and a two-run double for Westlake.
