3 Hearings Scheduled on Hospital’s Future
The Beach Cities Health District Board of Directors has scheduled three public hearings on four competing proposals for the future of South Bay Medical Center in Redondo Beach.
The meetings will feature overviews of each of the proposals--one to keep the center as an acute care hospital, one to convert it to an outpatient facility and two to tear it down and replace it with an assisted living complex for senior citizens. Part of each meeting will be set aside for public comment.
The health district board is planning to decide the hospital’s fate Feb. 26.
