Suspect in 2 Killings Found With Throat Slashed
PORTLAND, Ore. — A man suspected of killing a bearded woman and her female companion at a karaoke bar was found at a construction site with his throat slashed.
Eric Walter Running, 47, was hospitalized in critical condition after he was found Thursday, police Lt. Cliff Madison said.
“We don’t have any idea how he came about his injuries,” Madison said. “At this stage, he doesn’t look like he’ll be talking to us any time soon.”
Running is suspected of killing the women Tuesday night at the Ambassador Restaurant and Lounge. Running argued with the women and left the bar after one of them refused to leave with him, police said. He came back hours later and shot both women in the head with a shotgun, witnesses said.
The bearded woman was identified as Jacqueline Julita Anderson, 29. The other was Barbara J. Gilpin, 44. Both women were from Jewell, had been domestic partners for at least 10 years and knew the suspect, police said.
Murder charges were pending against Running, Madison said.
