Port Hueneme Man Killed in Rollover Accident
AGOURA HILLS — A man died Friday morning when his tow-truck veered off the Ventura Freeway, hit a dirt embankment and flipped over, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The 3:35 a.m. accident killed the driver of the truck, 26-year-old Pat Shawn Weddel of Port Hueneme.
Weddel had been driving westbound near Chesebro Road at a high rate of speed, Officer Dorian Simpson said.
“His vehicle rolled over one time and landed upside down,” he said. Weddel was wearing a seat belt, Simpson said, and alcohol did not appear to be a factor.
The cause of the accident remained under investigation.
