Residents to Help Pick Name for Popular Park Trail
What’s in a name?
The Manhattan Beach Parks and Recreation Department wants residents to pick a new one for the Manhattan Beach Parkway.
The city wants to rename the greenbelt in honor of armed forces personnel who have fought for freedom.
In addition, some officials are proposing to build a veterans memorial for the park.
Officials want opinions from the public because the popular walking and jogging path is among the most widely used parks in the city.
Suggestion forms are available at City Hall at 1400 Highland Ave.
The forms must be turned in by 5 p.m. on March 18.
The City Council is scheduled to select a new name by April.
