IRVINE
The City Council on Tuesday will consider repealing an ordinance that prohibits unauthorized disclosures of closed-session discussions. Mayor Christina Shea called the law, which passed 3 to 2 at the Nov. 24 meeting, a political retaliation and has pressed for its repeal.
Shea has good reason to believe the vote can be overturned. Councilman-elect Larry Agran will replace outgoing Councilman Barry Hammond, who joined the majority on the vote, at Tuesday’s meeting. The council meets at 1 Civic Center Plaza at 5:30 p.m.
