Braves Place Bautista on DL
The Braves placed outfielder Danny Bautista on the 15-day disabled list and recalled right-handed pitcher Paul Bryd from triple-A Richmond. The move is retroactive to April 17. . . . The Cincinnati Reds reactivated left-hander Steve Cooke from the 15-day disabled list and designated left-hander Ricardo Jordan for assignment. Cooke has been out since April 3 with tendinitis in his elbow.
The Giants’ Barry Bonds got a single in the seventh inning against the Brewers to end an 0-for-10 skid. . . . Two Houston pitchers coming off injuries, Pete Schourek (left elbow) and Chris Holt (right shoulder), will pitch for Houston in an exhibition game today at New Orleans. . . . The Rockies’ Vinny Castilla, who had a three-run homer in 5-3 loss to Braves, has a 13-game hitting streak.
