Janice M. and Roger W. Johnson have given $150,000 to the Pacific Symphony to help underwrite guest artists appearing in the 1997-98 classical season at the Orange County Performing Arts Center in Costa Mesa. Janice Johnson is president of the Pacific board. The gift marks the largest donation the Santa Ana-based orchestra has received from an individual. In May, the Leo Freedman Foundation gave the orchestra a three-year grant of $600,000 to underwrite classical concerts.
