Bell-Jeff 17, Salesian 14--Sean Doyle kicked a 25-yard field goal in overtime for a come-from-behind victory at Pius X High in Downey.
Bell-Jeff (2-4, 2-1) began the fourth quarter trailing 14-0, but tied the score with back-to-back drives.
Carlos Trujillo, who gained 44 yards in six carries, scored on 20-yard touchdown run. Then Alejandro Roldan threw a 27-yard touchdown pass to David Barsumyan, who also rushed for 50 yards in 11 carries.
In overtime, Bell-Jeff’s Dennis McCarthy intercepted a Salesian pass to set up the winning field goal.
Junior tailback Carlos Aguillera led Salesian (0-6, 0-3) with 145 yards on 20 carries, including first-half scoring runs of 27 and 15 yards.
