Pedestrian Killed on Pacific Coast Highway
A Corona man visiting the beaches near Point Mugu State Park with his family died Saturday after being hit by a car on Pacific Coast Highway, authorities said.
Kenneth David Thomas, 51, was walking near Sycamore Canyon about 2:40 p.m. when he was struck by a Mercedes-Benz, said California Highway Patrol Officer Ron Rosales.
Rosales identified the driver as Robert Edmund Saynay.
Authorities were investigating the incident late Saturday.
Thomas was taken by Sheriff’s Department helicopter to St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Oxnard in full cardiac arrest.
He was pronounced dead a short time later.
