Holocaust Survivors See Camp Museum

From Times Wire Reports

Nazi Holocaust survivors returned to the Sachsenhausen concentration camp for the opening of a museum that chillingly re-creates the nightmare of their imprisonment. Organizers said 60 former inmates came to a ceremony at the camp where 200,000 slave laborers were interned from 1936 to 1945. Nearly half were killed or perished in the barbaric conditions at the camp. Curators have crammed Barrack 38, one of the camp’s 60 long, squat huts, with triple-deck bunks and latrines to re-create conditions in which Sachsenhausen’s inmates lived.
