Vigilante update--Mission Viejo will finish the first half of the season against Salinas, then start the second half with four more games against the Peppers, starting Sunday at Saddleback College. After losing the first five games of a series against South Division first-half champion Sonoma County, the Vigilantes rebounded to win the last two. Outfielder Sam Taylor drove in eight runs with five hits in his last eight at-bats, including two homers and two doubles. Infielder Chris Ashbach also has been hot, batting .346 (9 for 26) in the past six games.
Peppers update--First baseman Kraig Constantino (.329, 6 homers, 23 RBIs) and third baseman Brian Kooiman (.315, 7 homers, 30 RBIs) are the leading hitters. Outfielder Eddie Comeaux leads the league in stolen bases (17). Pitcher Wally Ritchie is second in the league with six victories and pitcher Derek Fahs is second with seven saves.
