Video Store Hours to Be Challenged
The late night hours of a proposed video store will be challenged at Monday’s City Council meeting.
The Planning Commission’s recent approval of the expected operating hours of the Hollywood Video at Alicia Parkway and Muirlands Boulevard was appealed by Councilman Tom Potocki.
Under the commission’s approval, the store will be open as late as midnight, Potocki said. Although the intersection is heavily traveled, several homes overlook the corner, he added.
“The midnight hours bother me,” said Potocki. “It’s the only location [in the shopping center] open at that time.”
Potocki also expressed reservations about traffic patterns going into the parking lot.
“I think we should take another look” at the project, he said.
The 6 p.m. meeting will be at City Hall, 25909 Pala. Information: (714) 470-3000.
