Car Show Proceeds Will Support DARE
The Police Department will help sponsor a classic car show Sunday at Peralta Canyon Park to raise money for the DARE anti-drug program.
At least 200 cars made before 1970 are expected along with 1,000 enthusiasts. Two Police Department DARE show cars also will be displayed.
The city will raise money by selling hot dogs, beverages and raffle tickets and through vendor fees. The goal is to raise at least $2,000.
DARE officers, Community Services Department representatives and police explorers are volunteering for the event, which runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free.
Peralta Canyon Park is at Gerda and Penny drives.
