Bike Rodeo to Feature Stunt Show, Games
The Irvine Police Department invites residents to attend its third annual Bike Rodeo and DARE Fair Saturday.
The event begins at 8 a.m. with a pancake breakfast at Irvine City Hall, 1 Civic Center Plaza. The rodeo will follow from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., featuring a roller-blade and bike stunt show, an obstacle course and game and food booths.
The Police Department will offer free bicycle licensing to residents who bring their bikes. It also will give a picture identification card called a “Passport for Safety” to Irvine children who complete a bicycle safety program during Saturday’s event. A $2 fee will be charged for passports issued to children who are nonresidents.
The department holds the event each year in May, which is Bicycle Safety Month in California.
Tickets are $4 per person or $15 for a family pass.
