On Deck: A New Titanic Exhibit
Just when you thought the Titanic hoopla was over . . . Memphis, Tenn., weighs in with the largest exhibition ever on the ship that sank April 15, 1912, killing more than 1,500. Starting Thursday, more than 300 objects from the Atlantic wreck will be shown at the city’s Pyramid center, with paintings (“The Final Plunge,” Simon Fisher, above), a re-creation of a Titanic cafe and other displays. The show, through Sept. 30, is sponsored by WONDERS: The Memphis International Cultural Series and RMS Titanic Inc., which recovered the objects. Information: (800) 263-6744.
