Toll Roads
Toll roads are a major annoyance (March 23). I’ll never forget my first day driving as a tourist in Massachusetts. I mistakenly entered a tollway going in the opposite direction from my intended destination. I went 10 miles out of my way and had to pay $1.40 for the privilege.
I vote for raising the price of gasoline to eliminate the inconvenience of tolls. Assemblyman Bill Morrow (R-Oceanside) says that it’s an “innovative thing that ought to be considered.” They’ve had them in other parts of the country for years, and I’ve always been relieved that Southern California was smart enough to figure out better ways of financing freeways.
