Events to Honor Women’s Achievements
In the coming weeks, West Hollywood will mark the contributions women have made to society as it observes Women’s Awareness Month as part of Women’s History Month nationwide.
Scheduled events include a women’s business mixer, an international women’s day celebration, a “Women’s Health for the 21st Century” workshop and seminars on women and lesbians considering parenting.
Banners will be on display at City Hall recognizing City Councilwoman Abbe Land, the West Hollywood Women’s Advisory Council and the contributions of women in law enforcement.
Also, street banners on Santa Monica Boulevard will recognize such leaders as Susan B. Anthony, Amelia Earhart, Harriet Tubman and former First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt.
For more information, call the City Council offices at (213) 848-6460.
