Man Robs Branch of California Federal
The FBI is looking for a tall, thin man who robbed a bank in Port Hueneme on Monday afternoon.
The man--wearing a dark cap and dark baggy jacket--walked into the California Federal Savings Bank at 739 W. Channel Islands Blvd. about 2 p.m. and handed the teller a note demanding money, said Special Agent Gary Auer, who supervises the Ventura office of the FBI.
Although he did not show a gun, he told the teller he had one, Auer said.
The teller handed him money from her tray, and the man left the bank and got into a 1970s silver Toyota driven by someone else, Auer said.
The robber was described as a 6-foot-1 Latino, weighing about 150 pounds and in his late 20s, Auer said. The FBI does not believe the man has been involved in other bank robberies in Ventura County.
