Limited Will Close 200 Stores
Limited Inc. said it will close 200 stores and named top executives at its Express and Cacique clothing chains. The nation’s largest chain of specialty clothing stores didn’t specify which sites it will close, but it said the stores will be closed this year. Michael Weiss, most recently vice chairman of Limited, will return to his former position as Express’ president and chief executive. The Columbus, Ohio-based parent company also named J. Crew President Robert Bernard as president and CEO of Cacique. The new officers are replacing executives who resigned, the company said. Limited said its full-year earnings will fall short of estimates because of poor holiday sales at Express. Limited’s shares fell 25 cents to close at $16.75 on the New York Stock Exchange.
