Gretzky to Make Eastern All-Star Debut

Wayne Gretzky of the New York Rangers will line up between Pittsburgh’s Jaromir Jagr and Tampa Bay’s Dino Ciccarelli for the Eastern Conference at the NHL All-Star game Jan. 18 in San Jose.
The other Eastern Conference starters voted by the fans are Ray Bourque of Boston and Brian Leetch of the New York Rangers on defense and Florida’s John Vanbiesbrouck in goal.
It will be Gretzky’s 16th all-star game but first for the East. Ciccarelli will be making his first All-Star appearance as a starter. The veteran winger has played in three previous All-Star games.
