Shooting Victim in Good Condition
A Canyon Country woman, who was shot and wounded by her estranged husband before he killed their 3-year-old son and himself last week, was listed in good condition Tuesday at UCLA Medical Center.
Vonda Stanfield, 32, was shot in the right thigh by Calvin Manuel Stanfield, 35, outside their condominium Nov. 25.
Following an argument earlier in the day, Vonda Stanfield had left the apartment to get help from a neighbor. As she returned, her husband pushed out the screen from their second-story bedroom and opened fire with a rifle, sheriff’s deputies said.
After wounding his wife, Calvin Stanfield shot their son, Dylan, and then himself.
