Human Rights Event to Honor Groups
A Simi Valley group that offers special computers and training for people with disabilities, an Oxnard group that feeds the hungry, a child advocacy group in Ventura, a Thousand Oaks-based American Indian council and two volunteers will be honored Sunday at the sixth annual Bahai Human Rights Luncheon and Awards Ceremony.
The Special Awareness Computer Center, FOOD Share, the Court Appointed Special Advocate Program and the California Indian Council will be recognized by the area Bahai.
Santa Paula librarian Daniel Robles will also be honored for his volunteerism, as will Eleanor Howard, who teaches at White Oak Elementary School in Westlake Village.
The luncheon is open to the public and starts at 12:30 p.m. For ticket prices and more information, call 520-0443.
