Holocaust Is Topic of Film Symposium at Wilshire Temple
Documentarian Jon Blair (“Anne Frank Remembered”); “Schindler’s List” producer Branko Lustig, a Holocaust survivor; and “Schindler’s” screenwriter Steve Zaillian will discuss the depiction of the Holocaust in films on Sunday at the Wilshire Boulevard Temple.
Joining the three Academy Award winners at the mini-symposium, at 3663 Wilshire Blvd. at 2 p.m., will be directors Paul Mazursky (“Enemies, a Love Story”), Agnieszka Holland (“Europa Europa”) and Pierre Sauvage (“Weapons of the Spirit”).
Dennis Aig, a film professor at Montana State University, and Annette Innsdorf, an expert on Holocaust in film from Columbia University, will moderate.
The discussion will be followed by a reception that is open to benefactors and sponsors.
The event is sponsored by the Second Generation Los Angeles, Jewish Federation Council of Greater Los Angeles, KUSM-TV and the Wilshire Boulevard Temple.
Tickets for the symposium, which will be available at the door, are $10; benefactor tickets are $50 and sponsor tickets are $75.
