Pasadena Muir (3-1) vs. No 4 Esperanza (3-1)

VALENCIA HIGH SCHOOL
Esperanza overcame Long Beach Poly, 25-24, last week. Two weeks ago, Muir lost to Poly, 29-18, after leading, 12-0. The Aztecs could be without injured running back Jamaal Footman. Last week, Muir rallied to defeat Artesia, 13-12. Quarterback LaShaun Ward, running back Sultan McCullough (whose brother Saladeen is at Oregon) and receivers Deangelo Steward and Anthony Kelly lead the Mustangs. Muir Coach Eric Johnson is concerned whether his team can stand up to Esperanza’s muscle. “We’re bringing 30 kids and none of them are big,” Johnson said.
