Gaston and teammate Tony Trueba have exchanged the Oilers’ top spot regularly the last couple of years. Saturday at the Las Vegas Invitational, it was Gaston’s turn again as he won in 13 minutes 56 seconds, a record on the 2.89-mile course. Trueba finished third and the Oilers won their division for the third year in a row.

* Corona del Mar, senior. Caught six passes for 154 yards and a county-record five touchdowns in a 54-0 victory over Garden Grove.

* Capistrano Valley, senior. Scored five goals in a 10-9 victory over Villa Park in the Long Beach Millikan tournament semifinals.
