Selanne Goal Produces Tie

Teemu Selanne scored a power-play goal with 1:36 left in regulation to give the Mighty Ducks a 3-3 tie with the Penguins at Portland. Selanne scored on a 30-foot shot five seconds after Pittsburgh backup goalie Patrick Lalime replaced Tom Barrasso, who was given a five-minute major and a game misconduct for spearing Warren Rychel.
Tomas Sandstrom gave the Penguins a 3-2 lead with 3:33 left when he beat Mikhail Shtalenkov. Shaun Van Allen and Jari Kurri added goals for the Ducks (1-1-2) and Kevin Todd had three assists. Shtalenkov made 38 saves.
