CSUN Receives Grant for Media Students
The Hollywood Foreign Press Assn., best known for its annual Golden Globe awards, has given Cal State Northridge $15,000 to aid students pursuing degrees in radio, television and film.
CSUN alumnus Philip Berk, who is president of the association, presented the check to the school this month. University officials may distribute the money among any number of entering or continuing students.
Just prior to the $15,000 award, CSUN was picked to receive the $2,500 Women in Film scholarship for a graduate student in the department. Producer Garry Marshall, whose hits have included “Pretty Woman” on the big screen and “Happy Days” on TV, donated the graduate award.
