FBI Seeks Man in 2 Bank Robberies
FBI investigators are seeking the man who robbed a Home Savings of America in Port Hueneme of an undisclosed amount of cash late Monday morning.
The suspect approached a teller at the 2671 N. Ventura Road branch about 11:25 a.m., presented a note that said he had a gun and demanded money, FBI spokesman Gary Auer said.
Auer said the suspect, who did not appear to be armed, escaped on foot.
The suspect is believed to be the same person who robbed the Oxnard branch of the Santa Barbara Bank and Trust, at 2385 N. Oxnard Blvd., a week ago, Auer said.
In both incidents, the suspect was described as a thin Latino about 20 years old, 5-foot-7 with short black hair. He also has two tattoos--one behind his left ear and another on the back of his neck.
The suspect was wearing a red Pendleton-type shirt, buttoned to the neck, baggy tan pants and a white baseball cap during Monday’s robbery.
Anyone with information should call the Port Hueneme Police Department at 986-6530, or the Ventura office of the FBI, 642-3995.
