Entries Sought for ‘Grammy Showcase’
The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences is calling for submissions for the “Grammy Showcase,” a national concert series aimed at promoting and exposing unsigned rock bands.
A committee of musicians, radio station directors, agents, managers and music publishers will review submissions and select 60 bands to perform in January at one of 12 showcase sites, including Los Angeles, New York, Atlanta, Nashville, San Francisco, Seattle and Washington.
One band from each local showcase then will be flown to perform at one of three regional showcases in early February, and one band from each regional showcase will be flown to New York to perform at the national showcase during Grammy week in late February.
In addition, one band from each showcase will be included on a “Grammy Showcase” compilation CD.
The entry deadline is Oct. 15. Information: (800) 544-8991.
