Cal State Northridge loses six seniors--pitchers Robert Crabtree, Evan Howland, Juan Velazquez and Andrew Settle, first baseman Grant Hohman and designated hitter David Stevenson--but several juniors might sign with professional teams if they are selected in the June draft.

Catcher Robert Fick and third baseman Eric Gillespie are certain to sign, and left-handed pitcher Nathan Rice and outfielders Jose Miranda and Kurt Airoso might also be drafted.

The final batting numbers of Fick, Gillespie and shortstop Adam Kennedy are the best of any trio in the nation. In 70 games, they combined for 334 hits and 65 home runs, scoring 252 runs and driving in 247. Fick batted .420, Kennedy .393 and Gillespie .357.
