After nearly a year of exhausting scores of leads, police detectives announced Monday that they have arrested a Los Angeles man in connection with the killing of flight attendant Jane Carver, a mother of two who was gunned down in daylight while returning home from a jog.

Leonard Owen Mundy, 42, an electrician who also has two children, was arrested on suspicion of murder Saturday at his home, said Police Sgt. Dann Bean. Mundy was being held without bail in Orange County Jail and was to be arraigned today in Orange County’s West Municipal Court.

On June 10, 1995, Carver was jogging about 8 a.m. when a man approached her from behind and shot her in the left eye, leaving the 46-year-old woman to die in a flower bed near her home.
