Children’s Car Seats Recalled: The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said Century Products Co. and Evenflo Co. are recalling more than 22,000 child safety seats. Macedonia, Ohio-based Century is recalling 11,000 SmartMove model 4750 convertible seats because a mismatch of latching components could cause the buckle to release during a crash. The NHTSA said Century will provide a free retrofit kit for the seats. Piqua, Ohio-based Evenflo is recalling 11,423 Trooper Adjustable Shield seats, models 219140, 219164, 219180, 219186 and 219188, because it had switched instructions for toddler and infant use. The agency said the error could lead some owners to believe that infants smaller than 20 pounds can ride facing forward.
