Holland, de Beaubien Highlight All-Star Football Team Roster

Standout linebackers Ryon Holland of Mater Dei and Damian de Beaubien of El Toro are among 36 high school seniors named to the South team for the 37th Orange County all-star football game, July 12 at Orange Coast College.

The two linebackers, who were Times Orange County first-team selections, will be joined by fellow first-team members Brad Baker (San Clemente, offensive line), Bryant Geary (University, defensive back), Trevor Insley (San Clemente, wide receiver), Joe Khamis (Edison, offensive line), Sean Kolmer (San Clemente, defensive back) and Joel Sugg (Irvine, offensive line).

University’s Mark Cunningham will coach. The rest of the squad:

Sarah McEachen, a striker at Mater Dei, has committed to play soccer at Fresno State, according to her father, Dave.

McEachen missed most of her senior season because of a broken leg and was recruited primarily on the strength of performances with her club team last fall, her dad said.

The Women’s Sports Foundation and Mervyn’s have announced a scholarship fund to recognize high school senior girls across the country for their athletic participation, academic performance, community service and financial need. One-hundred seniors will each receive $1,000 toward completion of an undergraduate college degree.
