Triple Fatal Kills 2 Valley Men
MALIBU — The California Highway Patrol on Wednesday identified three people killed in a fiery wreck on Malibu Canyon road, including a Northridge man and a Reseda man.
The driver was identified as Richard Clark, 27, of Northridge. Passengers were identified as Ricardo Aguilar, 26, of Reseda, and Stephanie Ann Cole, 23, apparently of Morganton, N.C., said Officer Gordon Verrone.
Clark was wearing a seat belt but the others were not, Verrone said.
The accident appeared to be alcohol-related, but authorities were awaiting results of an autopsy, he said.
The accident occurred late Tuesday night when a car headed north on Malibu Canyon Road crossed the double yellow line, corrected to the right onto the shoulder, then went out of control. The car crossed the double-yellow again into the path of a pickup truck going the other way, authorities said.
The unidentified driver of the pickup suffered minor to moderate injuries in the collision and was treated at Northridge Hospital Medical Center.
