Wilkes, who played four years of varsity softball at Bolsa Grande High, came up with her best performance of the season for Cypress last week. The Chargers were upset by Orange Coast, 1-0, Wednesday and were in danger of falling two games behind Fullerton. But Wilkes responded with a two-hitter as Cypress won, 2-0, to move into a first-place tie. She struck out two and walked two and faced three batters over the minimum. She is 10-3.
