CISL Releases 1996 Regular-Season Schedule
The Continental Indoor Soccer League released its schedule on Tuesday, and the Splash got few breaks from the league office.
The Splash has the league’s longest road stretch, six games, for the month of August, and closes the final month of the season with 11 games in September, including seven (four at home) in 13 days.
Seven of the 11 games in September will be played at the Pond, and another will be in San Diego.
The league championship is scheduled for the final week of October.
The Splash does have an advantage over its Western Division opponents in one area--its strength of schedule (.505) is the weakest of the division’s five teams.
The Splash schedule:
June 14--vs. Dallas; 20--at Portland; 23--at Seattle; 26--at Sacramento.
July 3--vs. Portland; 5--vs. San Diego; 10--vs. Sacramento; 13--vs. Portland; 20--at San Diego; 26--vs. Houston; 30--vs. San Diego.
Aug. 3--at San Diego; 10--at Washington; 14--at Indianapolis; 17--at Detroit; 24--at Houston; 25--at Monterrey.
Sept. 1--vs. Monterrey; 2--vs. Seattle; 4--at Seattle; 6--at Portland; 7--at Sacramento; 11--vs. Portland; 13--vs. Detroit; 20--vs. Sacramento; 22--vs. Seattle; 27--at San Diego; 29--vs. Washington.
