6 Injured in 4-Car Collision at Thousand Oaks Intersection
THOUSAND OAKS — An accident at the intersection of Moorpark Road and Avenida de Los Arboles on Sunday night sent six people to local hospitals.
The names and conditions of the victims were not available.
The accident occurred about 8:10 p.m. when two cars driving north on Moorpark ran a red light at the intersection with Los Arboles, Sheriff’s Sgt. Cole McDaniel said. The cars struck two other cars heading west through the intersection.
Preliminary reports indicated that the two northbound cars had been chasing each other, possibly after an argument at the nearby Mervyn’s department store, McDaniel said.
Ventura County firefighters were called to the scene to remove several victims from their cars.
The victims were transported to Westlake Medical Center and Los Robles Regional Medical Center.
