Docs at Disneyland: The California Medical Assn., the nation’s largest state association of doctors, begins its annual policymaking tug-of-war Saturday at the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim. This year’s hot topic? A proposed resolution advising its 38,000 members against signing “gag” clauses in contracts with managed-care companies that would prohibit them from bad-mouthing health plans to their patients. The group’s 469 delegates from across the state will dispense with more than 175 other matters, including whether to support proposed laws requiring seat belts on school buses, fences around swimming pools and helmets on cyclists.
