Awards Dinner to Honor Latino Leaders
Limited seating is available for an awards dinner tonight to honor six civic leaders for outstanding contributions to Ventura County’s Latino community.
Los Angeles television newsman Bob Jimenez will be the master of ceremonies for El Concilio del Condado de Ventura’s annual Latino Leadership Awards banquet.
Two Ventura residents, Amada Perez and Michael Angel Maynez, and four Oxnard residents--Ralph Revelez, Adriana Jasso and Ray and Mena Rios--will receive awards from the Oxnard-based Latino advocacy group.
This is the seventh year El Concilio has recognized those who have excelled in education, community service, youth leadership, cultural arts and business.
The banquet starts at 6:30 p.m. at the Mandalay Beach Resort, 2101 Mandalay Beach Road, in Oxnard. The cost is $40 per person or $70 per couple.
All proceeds will go to support El Concilio’s youth violence prevention programs.
