Weekend Box Office : Moviegoers Getting ‘Shorty’
“Get Shorty,” the MGM dark comedy starring John Travolta and Gene Hackman, was not short on audience, capturing the top box-office spot for the second week in a row and expanding to 395 more theaters across the country. Most films that opened this weekend did respectably, according to John Krier, president of Exhibitor Relations, with the weekend down just 4% from last year.
