David Williams threw three touchdown passes and ran for another, and Claude Mathis added 216 all-purpose yards Saturday as Southwest Texas State defeated Cal State Northridge, 43-14, at San Marcos, Tex. Williams completed 19 of 34 passes for 241 yards. Mathis ran 18 times for 128 yards, returned three punts for 63 yards, ran back a kickoff 14 yards and caught one pass for 11 yards.

Quarterback Greg Hyland scored on a one-yard touchdown run in the first quarter for Chapman, which held on for a 10-7 victory at Cal State Chico. . . .
