Quiksilver Inc.: The Costa Mesa designer and distributor of casual wear, snowboard wear and swimwear for young men and boys, said profit for the third fiscal quarter rose 53% to $2.3 million, or 33 cents a share, from $1.5 million, or 23 cents a share, a year ago. Sales for the quarter ended July 31 increased 46% to $42.7 million from $29.2 million.

Net income for the first nine months of fiscal 1995 totaled $7.5 million, or $1.06 a share, up from $5.8 million, or 87 cents a share, in year-earlier period, which included a gain of $600,000 from an accounting change. Sales were up 38% to $123.7 million from $89.9 million.
