Southwest to Expand Skycap Computers: Southwest Airlines said Thursday that it will begin testing wireless hand-held skycap computers to expedite baggage check-in and confirm reservations for ticketless travelers. It said preliminary testing in July at the Dallas, Houston and Oakland airports will be expanded to 10 additional airports in mid-August. Southwest said ticketless passengers now account for about 30% of its boardings. Such customers will be able to check bags with skycaps without stepping up to a ticket counter, it said.
