India Heat Wave Kills 80

NEW DELHI — The death toll from a scorching heat wave in northern and western India has climbed to about 80 after 16 people died in the state of Uttar Pradesh, the Press Trust of India said Thursday. The news agency said temperatures in the state’s Banda district rose to 121 degrees Fahrenheit.
