PORT HUENEME : Official Tapped as White House Panelist
Hueneme School District Supt. Ronald Rescigno plans to attend a White House forum on technology and education in Washington next week.
Rescigno will be just one of nine panelists to participate in the three-hour discussion June 8. Representatives of private industry and government agencies are also expected to sit on the panel.
The forum is designed to help the Clinton Administration formulate a long-term policy for science and technology. Rescigno brings to the table intimate knowledge of using computer, interactive and multimedia technologies in the classroom.
“Because of the reputation Port Hueneme enjoys as a leader in technology for education, we are eager to have you as a participant to give the group a perspective on the customer or user’s needs,” read the White House’s invitation to Rescigno. The letter was signed by Ed Fitzsimmons, the President’s special assistant for education and training.
“It should be interesting,” Rescigno said. “It is a great honor for the district.”
