Fair Board Cleared in Contract Dispute
COSTA MESA — The Orange County Fair Board said it has been cleared by the state Department of General Services of allegations that it acted improperly in awarding a contract to a food and beverage vendor.
A protest was filed May 3 by Cutting Board Caterer, the Lake Forest company that has operated the food and beverage service at the Orange County Fairgrounds for 11 years.
After a new five-year contract was awarded to Fanfare, an Oakland company, Cutting Board objected to how the bidding process was handled.
The state agency found no irregularities in the proceedings, the Fair Board said last week.
Fanfare also contracted to provide concessions for events at the Pacific Amphitheatre, the International Speedway and Equestrian Center.
