Deputy CIA Chief Named

WASHINGTON — President Clinton has nominated George J. Tenet to be deputy director of the CIA, the White House said.
Tenet is currently senior director of intelligence programs at the National Security Council. Before he joined the NSC, Tenet was staff director for the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, where he coordinated all of the committee’s oversight and legislative activities.
